Sweet French Cottages
Dinner
"One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well."
— Virginia Woolf

We offer weekly gourmet dinners for our cottage guests. We usually prepare the meals and hand select the wines, although we sometimes feature guest chefs. Dinner parties are served alfresco on our terrace or in our ancient wine cave.

Dinner Our terrace offers a relaxing setting with the tranquil sound of the creek below and a backdrop of ancient oak and chestnut trees. Our wine cave provides old world ambiance with its stone and hand-plastered walls, arches, antique chandelier and candlelight.

Our menus are inspired by the season’s best offerings and regional specialties including Aubrac beef, farm fresh lamb and poultry, and fish as well as organic and seasonal fruits and vegetables. The table is well appointed... a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.

Dinner Typically, our group dinners consist of three courses including dessert and wine. We enjoy preparing traditional French dishes with a nod to California-style cuisine. Alternatively, we host dinners for cottage guests at our favorite local restaurants. In high season, we also offer apéritifs with traditional French "cocktails," local wines and hors-d’œvres.

We also offer our guests "Romantic Dinners for Two." A perfect choice for honeymoons, anniversaries and birthdays, or to just add a little romance to your holiday — so reserve your cottage and a "Romantic Dinner for Two" and make your stay truly memorable. These romantic and elegant dinners are served on our idyllic terrace or in our wine cave. The table setting is superbly presented with beautiful dinnerware and stemware as well as candlelight and rose petals or other flowers from our garden decorating the table. Our romantic four-course dinner includes a starter, a main course, cheese platter, dessert, quality French wines and coffee or tea.

Dinner We also offer daily petits déjeuners (breakfasts) to guests at La Maisonette and L’Ecole Ancienne for 10€ per person. Guests only have to look as far as their cottage doorstep each morning for a delicious French breakfast presented in a charming basket!
