How do I book a property?

First, check our website calendar for cottage availability by clicking on “Check Availability” under “Booking Information”. Then, fill out and submit the inquiry form, located at the bottom of each menu page, with the cottage name you are interested in and your preferred dates (from Saturday to Saturday); or you can email us directly at bookings@sweetfrenchcottages.com or telephone us.

Can we rent a cottage for 4 or 10 nights or long term?

Our minimum rental period is for one week, from Saturday to Saturday. We may be able to prorate additional nights, such as a 10-night stay, in low season or mid season; however, we only offer weekly rentals during the high season. For long-term rentals of one month or more, please contact us for further information regarding special long-term rates.

Do we require a Security Deposit?

For weekly rentals, we do request a 100% refundable, 200€ security deposit, 90 days prior to your arrival date. The security deposit is for broken or damaged furniture or equipment. To date, virtually all security deposits have been fully refunded. We will return your security deposit within 2 weeks of your departure date in the same manner in which it was paid. For longer term rentals, please enquire about the security deposit.

What is our rental deposit requirement?

We require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. Your reservation will be honored for 7 days until we receive your rental deposit. The full and final payment will become due 90 days prior to your arrival date. At such time that we receive your final payment, we will contact you via email (or by fax or mail) with all the information relating to the cottage and directions.

How can we pay for our reservation?

We accept most major credit cards via PayPal including Mastercard, VISA and American Express. We also accept payment by check, money order or direct credit (bank transfer) in Euros.

What is check-in time and check-out time for the cottages?

Check-in time is on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

What is our cancellation policy?

You may cancel anytime 90 days prior to your arrival date, however, you will forfeit your non-refundable deposit. After 90 days prior to your arrival date, we cannot refund any rental monies received; however, your 100% refundable security deposit will be promptly returned to you.

We recommend that you purchase independent travel insurance, including cancellation coverage, in the event that you have to cancel within 90 days of your arrival date. (For US travelers, you can purchase independent trip cancellation insurance from CSA, a California Company, at csatravelprotection.com)

How will I know how to get to the cottages?

Please refer to the "Travel Links & Info" page on our website which contains lots of travel information. We will provide you with specific local directions to our cottages via email or fax after your reservation is complete and full payment has been received.

What’s included with my rental of a cottage?

All cottages are fully furnished including bed and bath linens, down comforters and kitchen essentials such as S+P, spices, oils and all kitchenware. Firewood, a bottle of wine and flowers also await your arrival.

The cottage owners provide an Information Booklet with practical information as well as recommendations for restaurants, activities, sightseeing, Farmer’s Markets, wine tasting and much more. There is also a Tourist Information office in the village. You can purchase all food and beverage items in nearby Entraygues-sur-Truyere at the Utile, Proxi, Legumes and Fruit, and/or the Wine Shoppe or Farmer’s Markets. The cottages owners, who live nearby, can also provide you with any additional information you may need.
