 L’Ecole Ancienne is a 250 year-old charming stone cottage that was previously the village schoolhouse during the first half of the century and still has many of its original features intact. Some features include original pine floors, exposed wood beam ceilings, a beautiful fireplace with a stone surround and rare rose-coloured slate roof tiles. L’Ecole Ancienne has just been restored to a very high standard and is tastefully decorated with modern amenities and old world charm.
 The cottage is located near the Lot River, in the boutique wine region of Entraygues-Le Fel, and is only minutes away from several beautiful villages including Entraygues-sur-Truyere, Conques, Estaing and Espalion. The picturesque medieval riverside village of Entraygues is only five minutes away and offers full services including shopping, cafés, post office, bank and year-round farmer's markets. There are also several village festivals during the peak summer months.
 L’Ecole Ancienne is located on a bird refuge and is nestled between the cottage owners' beautifully restored farmhouse and 10 acres of woodlands. There is a creek below the cottage that provides the tranquil sound of flowing water. The property also has several ancient footpaths among the birch and oak trees, ferns and 100-year old chestnut trees.
 The first floor of L’Ecole Ancienne has an open floor plan with the living area, dining area and kitchen conveniently situated on one level. This area includes hand-rendered plaster walls, custom kitchen cabinets, wood beam ceilings, original pine floors and a wood-burning stove inside the enchanting stone fireplace. The living and dining areas are well appointed and comfortable. The charming kitchen is fully outfitted with a refrigerator, gas hob/stove, oven, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and electric kettle.
 From the kitchen, a French door leads out to a beautiful terrace with serene meadow and forest views. The terrace features a comfortable seating area, an umbrella, chaise lounges and a BBQ. It is perfect for alfresco meals or sipping wine or tea and listening to the peaceful sounds of nature.
 Back inside the house, above the first floor is a romantic double bedroom that also has hand-rendered plaster walls, exposed wood beams and pine floors. The ensuite bathroom features pine floors and a beautifully tiled luxury shower with body massage jets and a handheld shower wand. Quality bed linens and bath linens including down pillows and a down comforter are all provided.
 L’Ecole Ancienne is located on the same 10-acre bird refuge as our other cottage for two, “La Maisonette.” Due to their proximity, both properties can be rented simultaneously for friends or family who wish to holiday together but would prefer staying in their own cottage; please inquire about special rates for both cottages.
