There's so much to choose from in the Aveyron! Whether you just want to rest, go wine tasting/touring and dine on delicious regional food or engage in an activity, there is no end...
For the sports-minded, there is hiking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, fishing, bicycling, tennis and golf. The nearby golf course, Golf de Mezeyrac-Laguiole, is considered to be one of the prettiest 9-hole golf courses in all of France, and there is the Golf du Rodez, an 18-hole course, located in Rodez.
For thrill seekers, there is hang gliding, parascending, flying, motor sports, hot air ballooning, climbing, caving and more.
There are ski resorts within an hour's drive of our cottages offering snow skiing, cross country skiing and snow boarding.
Aveyron is a favored destination for hikers with its 450 miles of hiking trails through the forests, along the riverbanks, botanical walks, walks on the cornice above the River Tarn and walks across the Larzac plateau as well as the Aubrac plateau.
For quieter souls, there is the deep, spiritual side of Aveyron, with its forests, medieval villages, beautiful lakes and rivers and abundant flora and fauna. Each footpath seems to offer an opportunity to walk in history’s path, revealing the heritage of the Aveyron and unlocking ones own ancient memories.
In addition, there are many local farms as well as gorgeous chateaux that offer guided tours. There are approximately 48 museums in the Aveyron, several Farmer’s Markets in the area and a variety of regional festivals held throughout the year.
