Sweet French Cottages

Welcome to Sweet French Cottages located in the picturesque and unspoiled Lot Valley of the Aveyron Department in the Midi-Pyrénées, an enchanting region between Bordeaux and Provence, that offers 10 of "The Most Beautiful Villages in France."

Aveyron is a unique, inspirational and timeless place. This captivating region is home to the Pilgrim's spiritual path from France to Spain, the Route of the Lords of Rouergue and the Knights Templar and Hospitaller villages. There are many medieval villages and castles to discover as well as walking, hiking, wine tasting, water sports, fishing, golf, horseback riding and bird watching in an area that promotes le tourism vert (green tourism). A place that returns one to something authentic and restores one’s physical and spiritual strength.

This is an area that strives to preserve traditional cuisine with farm-fresh food and regional specialties. A place that also offers fantastic restaurants, 7 of which boast Michelin Stars, including Michel Bras which has 3 Michelin Stars and is rated one of the top 10 restaurants on the planet. France Magazine wrote, “There’s no doubt that the Lot Valley offers a diverse range of culinary delights, from chestnut liqueur to succulent beef and much more besides—there really is something to satisfy all tastes.” For wine enthusiasts, Entraygues-Le Fel has a handful of wineries to explore, and all of the Southwest wines are celebrated and drunk here including Languedoc, Cahors, Gaillac and nearby Marcillac.

Our cottages are nestled above the Lot River in the wine-producing area of Entraygues-Le Fel. All of the cottages are only 3 km from the medieval village of Entraygues-sur-Truyere, where two rivers "marry" at the foot of its 13th century chateau. According to The Rough Guide to France, “The most beautiful stretch of the Lot Valley is the 21.5km between the bridge of Coursavy, below Grand Vabre, just north of Conques, and Entraygues.” Entraygues offers charming shops, Farmer's Markets, festivals, friendly people, boutique wineries, shops, bakeries, cafés and restaurants as well as a post office, bank and pharmacy.

Come stay at one of our 200-year old stone cottages, all with views, beautiful interiors and full amenities. Treat yourself to Sweet French Cottages and truly experience the “joie de vivre” of France!
